Creative writing for Ages 7 to 9. 4 to 5pm. 6 weeks

A creative writing club for children to explore how to write a story from scratch. Stories are driven by characters (be they human, animal or machine) who want something and have to overcome somebody or something to achieve this. We help each child in the groups think through, either by drawing or writing, how their hero will prevail (or not). Once their plot ideas are straight, we look at where the story is set and how to sprinkle their stories with descriptions of place and characters; show not tell; move time along; and arrive at a memorable ending.
