11+ Non-Fiction writing for exams (2pm to 3:15pm)

The writing section of the 11+ exams also has questions asking for non-fiction writing skills. Some children feel more adept at answering these. On this course, the group will tackle one element of non-fiction writing a day: writing a diary entry, writing a report, writing a book review, letter writing, persuasive writing and writing a discursive essay. Writing non-fiction still requires using literary techniques to engage and entertain and we will demonstrate and practice these during the week.
