• Louise Pearce

    FOUNDER

    Louise founded Inkhead in 2006, with its mission to get children writing and to truly express their creativity, free from judgement and fear.

    A writer, journalist and editor in her own right, she holds an MA in Creative and Life Writing from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She has been teaching creative writing in schools for over 15 years and is an Associate Lecturer in Creative Writing for the Open University.

  • John Sheil

    HEAD OF OPERATIONS

    John first joined Inkhead in 2015 as a creative writing tutor. John studied English Literature and Creative Writing at Warwick University and gained a Master’s in philosophy at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He then went on to gain his PGCE teaching qualification with QTS and taught at a variety of Prep and Primary schools across London.

    He rejoined us in Summer 2023 and is closely involved with our 11+ creative writing products and services as well as managing our overseas clients, a field where he holds a CELTA in the provision of English as a foreign language.

    He is currently writing a novel called The Pests: The Chronicles of Pestia, a comedic account of the rule-breaking and rule-bending schoolchildren he taught over the last few years. Publication date 2024.

  • Caroline Druitt

    TUTOR

    Caroline Druitt is a poet living in South East London. She graduated from the Creative and Life Writing MA at Goldsmiths with Distinction in 2022.

    Caroline is an experienced creative writing facilitator, leading creative writing and poetry workshops with clients including PA consulting, University of the Arts London, Imperial College and Tara Bernard & Partners.

    Caroline was longlisted for the Outspoken Prize for Page Poetry in 2023 and commended in the National Poetry Competition. With support from Arts Council England, she is currently working on her first collection of poetry.

  • Timothy (Tymek) Woodham

    TUTOR

    Tymek has been a creative writing tutor since 2014. He has creative writing tutoring experience with all age groups, including but not limited to the 9+, the 11+, GCSE and A Level exams, the Cambridge ELAT and undergraduate level study.

    In 2021, he received a PhD from University College London, writing about American poetry in the twentieth century. His first monograph, The Poetics of Agency: Action and Form in Postwar U.S. Poetry is under contract with Bloomsbury Academic.

    Over the last few years, he has kept himself busy editing the literary journal Moveable Type, spending time as a Visiting Scholar at Yale University in the United States, teaching at various London universities and writing his first novel for young adults, Spirits of the Crossing.

  • Emma Gosnell

    TUTOR

    Emma is a creative writing tutor with inkhead. Previously, she was a journalist and editor on The Sunday Telegraph for 14 years, eventually becoming Deputy Editor of the paper’s Arts Magazine, Seven.

    She has a degree in English Language and Literature from Oxford University (where she fell even further in love with Victorian novels), and a Post Graduate diploma in Newspaper Journalism from City University.

    She continues to write and edit on a freelance basis and is currently working on a Comprehension book for young people using 19th century texts. When not writing or tutoring, Emma performs in a band.

  • Gemma Reeves

    TUTOR

    Gemma Reeves graduated from the MA in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University with distinction, and also holds an MA in Twentieth-Century Literature from Goldsmiths College, University of London.

    She has been teaching creative writing for over a decade in mainstream schools and alternative education provisions, specialising in Creative Writing and GCSE English. She is also an academic mentor for creative writing charities who work with inner-city schools.

    She has extensive experience co-writing and ghostwriting non-fiction books and journalism, and has written children’s storybooks for Nickelodeon. Her fiction has been shortlisted for the V.S. Pritchett Short Story Prize, and the Bridport Prize.

    Gemma’s first novel, Victoria Park, was published on January 2021. She’s been working as a creative writing for Inkhead since 2017.
